After listening to the voices of our communities, we are proud to announce that the Alaska MMIP Memorial will take the form of a traveling memorial, making its way from region to region across our state. This memorial will create a space for remembrance, healing, and unity, allowing families and loved ones to gather in their own communities.
Each name on the memorial will be paired with a QR code that links directly to the Alaska MMIP: We Remember app — a powerful digital extension of the memorial, ensuring every story is seen and remembered.
With the app, families can create personal profiles for their loved ones, sharing life stories, photos, and videos. It will also feature real-time missing person cases and alerts, keeping our communities connected and informed.
Stay connected here for regular updates, announcements, and opportunities to get involved by signing up for our monthly newsletter below and following us on social media. Together, let’s create a lasting tribute that carries love, strength, and resilience.
We are currently accepting requests to reserve spots for the MMIP Memorial and Memorial profiles for the Alaska MMIP: We Remember app. If you would like to submit a name for inclusion, please fill out the request form linked below.
Empowerment Advocate Alaska is seeking Indigenous artists to help design the memorial plaques for the Alaska MMIP Traveling Memorial, set to travel across Alaska in 2026.
These plaques will honor our Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples and those lost under suspicious circumstances—your creativity and artistry will help ensure their stories are remembered with dignity and respect.
