Experiencing domestic violence or sexual assault can be overwhelming, and navigating the criminal justice system can add even more stress. Our advocates walk alongside survivors, providing guidance, advocacy, and support throughout investigations, hearings, and trials.
We help survivors understand their victim’s rights, communicate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and courts, stay informed about their cases, develop safety plans, and connect with trusted resources. Whether in the courtroom or providing support remotely, we are here to ensure survivors never have to navigate the process alone.
The services of Empowerment Advocate Alaska are completely free.

Case Management
This is an online, self-paced education and training series from Empowerment Advocate Alaska designed to help survivors, families, community members, advocates, and professionals better understand trauma-informed DV/SA advocacy.
Experiences of domestic violence and sexual assault can create lasting impacts, while navigating law enforcement, victim services, courts, and the criminal justice system can add additional stress and uncertainty.
This course series provides accessible, practical information on trauma-informed, culturally responsive approaches to supporting survivors and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.
We offer two learning pathways:
Family & Community Education — Free
Free modules are designed for DV/SA survivors, families, community members, and anyone who wants to better understand trauma-informed advocacy. These modules provide clear, plain-language information about the criminal justice process, victim rights, and what survivors and families may experience.
Professional Training Workshops — Fee-Based
Additional modules are offered as interactive workshops for professionals who work with DV/SA survivors and families or want to strengthen their understanding of trauma-informed, victim-centered advocacy. These workshops go beyond information-sharing by providing practical tools, strategies, and opportunities to apply learning to real-world situations.
Fee-based workshops include certificates of completion and are intended for professionals such as victim advocates, social workers, behavioral health providers, attorneys, Tribal and community service providers, educators, and others who support families and communities impacted by MMIP. *Tribal entities and Tribal community service providers will be offered sliding-scale fees to help ensure cost does not limit their ability to participate in our workshops and trainings.
