Our organization is committed to providing vital support to victims and families affected by officer-involved shootings and misconduct. We offer comprehensive assistance through dedicated advocates who guide individuals and families through the complex and often overwhelming process that follows such incidents. Our advocates work closely with victims and families to help them navigate the criminal justice system, explaining the steps involved and ensuring they understand their rights throughout the investigation and legal proceedings.
In addition to emotional support, we help facilitate communication and connection with relevant government departments, ensuring that families have the information they need to stay informed and involved in the process. Our team also assists with documenting all communications related to the case, creating a clear record that can be provided to an attorney should the family decide to pursue a civil case in the future.
By offering guidance, advocacy, and a thorough understanding of the legal landscape, our goal is to empower families to make informed decisions, advocate for justice, and ensure their voices are heard. We stand alongside victims and families to provide both practical and emotional support during this difficult time.
Our program is dedicated to supporting families and loved ones of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) across Alaska through a Peer-Led Grief Support Group. This monthly support group, held via Zoom, provides a safe and compassionate space for individuals to connect with others who understand the unique and often painful journey of grieving a missing or murdered loved one.
Facilitated by trained advocates, the group offers emotional support and shared understanding between participants. Participants are encouraged to share their stories, express their grief, and lean on one another for strength and solidarity. The peer-led nature of the group ensures a community of empathy and trust, where those in attendance can offer and receive support from others who truly understand the complexities of their experience.
Our monthly sessions are designed to provide consistent and ongoing support, helping participants navigate their grief and maintain connections with others in similar situations, despite the geographical vastness of Alaska. In addition to emotional support, the group also offers guidance on practical matters, such as connecting with local resources, understanding legal processes, and navigating the advocacy needed for MMIP cases.
Through this support group, families are empowered to heal together, honor the memories of their loved ones, and find strength in community. This initiative aims to break the isolation that can come with such loss, ensuring that no family has to grieve alone.

We provide essential guidance, facilitate communication with law enforcement, and help families navigate the criminal justice process, ensuring they are supported throughout their journey for justice and healing.
